Strom byl pova\u017eov\u00e1n za br\u00e1nu, kter\u00e1 umo\u017e\u0148ovala p\u0159echod mezi ob\u011bma polovinami roku. Podle pov\u011bst\u00ed byl i kulat\u00fd st\u016fl kr\u00e1le Artu\u0161e vy\u0159ez\u00e1n z kmene jedin\u00e9ho dubu. N\u00e1\u010deln\u00edk, nebo sta\u0159e\u0161ina usedal p\u0159\u00edmo pod dubem, obli\u010dejem obr\u00e1cen\u00fdm k \u00a0v\u00fdchodu. Pro Kelty byl dub jedn\u00edm z nejd\u016fle\u017eit\u011bj\u0161\u00edch magick\u00fdch strom\u016f. V \u00a0Novgorodu st\u00e1la socha Peruna, kde na jeho po\u010dest ho\u0159el dnem i noc\u00ed ohe\u0148, \u017eiven dubov\u00fdm d\u0159evem Dub byl ve star\u00e9m \u0158\u00edm\u011b , zvl\u00e1\u0161t\u011b zasv\u011bcen\u00fd Jovovi a kr\u00e1lov\u00e9 z\u00a0Alby nosili tradi\u010dn\u00ed dubovou korunu.
